Professor Elena Ivanova

Professor Elena Ivanova is a Professor in the School of Science, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, Swinburne University of Technology.

Her professional interests are concentrated on development and research coordination in fundamental and applied aspects of Nano/Biotechnology including planar micro-devices, biomaterials, immobilization of biomolecules and microorganisms in micro/nano/environments and bacterial interactions with micro/nano-structured surfaces.

Within the Steel Research Hun, her project work will contribute to the broader Hub project “B3: Anti-fungal coatings”, which aims to develop a commercial stable coating with antifungal properties, which can be incorporated into current BlueScope coatings and manufacturing processes. The role of her research in the broader project is to provide guidance in the selection and implementation of topographically modified surfaces that will exhibit long term inhibition to the adhesion and growth of fungal spores to coated roofing products.
